The Innocence

Dear Viewers, Readers, and Listeners:

Updates galore! I'm working on the second Cloudman novel in the current series, entitled (for now) 'Cloudman's Secret Identity'. It's a chronicle of the somewhat brief romance between Cloudman and Cloudwoman, and will likely come to include also the first Goodiness League adventure (don't know what the Goodiness League is? SHAME ON YOU, YOU'LL HAVE TO READ TO FIND OUT).

I've also begun another little story, this time a murder mystery which takes place during the brief limbo period after BLOB 12, during the time that BLOB is absent from Innocentville. It's called 'The Innocence' for now, though I may re-title it 'The Innocence Killer'. It follows Innocentville PD's Officer Jackson on his hunt for a brutal murderer who is targeting seemingly random citizens of Innocentville. But can he find the link between the victims and stop the vicious murderer before it's too late? Or will he himself fall victim to the madman's killer will?

Yeah, clearly I've been reading too much Thomas Harris.

Meanwhile, my friend Quincy is coming into town tomorrow, which makes me 'super duper excited' as Amanda Bynes would say. For the occasion, I'm thinking of trying to get together my ragtag but wonderful voice team to record a little some-some before he leaves the country again. You may remember Quincy as the voice of Mayor Kettle and Santa Claus (and Paco) from the Hero BLOB Christmas Special last year. Don't remember? THEN CHECK IT OUT RIGHT FREAKING NOW on www.blastocyst.org.uk !!!!

I'm also working on what I hope to be a very short piece featuring Jack In the Box Man, which will then hopefully be showcased on Blastocyst, as well.

And I have secret plans brewing, as always. But now they're brewing very near the surface. Let's just say they involve Lord Byron and an excessive amount of satin, and leave it at that.

Ciao for now, BLOBpals!!

Hero BLOB Update, with Cloudman!

Well, my dears, it's been a long while, but I haven't been idle. I've finished both 'Killer Brother: Target Genesis' and a new Cloudman novel, 'Jack and Betrayal' in the last couple of months. I'm currently sending them out to some magazines to see if I can get them published. But Hero BLOB isn't just on the back-burner, no no. Our favorite Hero BLOB is oozing his way into the new Cloudman book, and the plot for 'Hero BLOB 12: Sinners in the Hands of an Angry BLOB' is completely crystalized, as it must be, since its events are mentioned in 'Jack and Betrayal'! Hopefully, I'll have some good news on those soon, as to publication.

Now, I've moved on to the next Cloudman novel, 'Cloudman's Secret Identity', which significantly alters the state of things of Cloudman's early adventures by expanding on the behind-the-scenes relationship of Cloudman and the mysterious Cloudwoman!! Exciting times.

And check out some Hero BLOB and Cloudman -related poetry on the blastocyst.org.uk website, featuring 'Hero BLOB: Nadir' and 'To Cloudman', a poem written by Pengy, Cloudman's sidekick penguin! All are by yours truly, the Author, Schedel B. Luitjen!!

I remain, as ever, yours xx

SECRET PROJECT

Dear Pals,
Secret project work went well today; I did several character designs, especially of P____ and her baby, and the evil cow. I'm really excited about this secret project! Also, I finished reading the original in Latin today, too!!

Meanwhile, after days of searching, I finally found a suitable oak tree to use in Cloudman: Tree, and now I can actually make that film!! Awesome.

Laterzzzzzzz,
S.

The Glowing Horizon: CLOUDMAN!!!

Dearest friends,
I'm moving on to the thing I always hoped to achieve.... CLOUDMAN movies. Yes, Cloudman, my first successful superhero creation, from more than 10 years ago now. I've already fully written/ illustrated the storyboard for the third episode in the Cloudman film series, 'Cloudman: Tree'. I haven't written the first two yet, but that's par for the course. It's a direct re-imagining of what I remember from the episode of the original comic from 1999 of the same name. It's uber-fast-paced and quite ridiculous, so probably right up the alley of anyone who likes the BLOB series. Of course, there are quite a few loose ends to be tied in the BLOB series, and I'm by no means abandoning it. This should be a busy exam season for me (I hope) as I try to get all of this done. I wouldn't have it any other way!!

'Song of BLOB's Nose' online!

Dear friends,
The new poem, 'Song of BLOB's Nose', is online now at the aforementioned online journal, Blastocyst:

http://blastocyst.webeden.co.uk/#/poet-scorner/4537942045

There, you can see the final version of the introduction to the poem, the draft of which is posted here, below this post. It will be an interesting exercise in understanding the manner of my working style, I hope, for someone to analyze the differences between the two. They were both done on the same day, only minutes apart; I edited the text in the body of the email in which I sent it to the proprietor of Blastocyst, Johnny Brick, to whom I am grateful for hosting my poetry.

Meanwhile, I have been working tirelessly on my dissertation about the movie Drag Me to Hell and on an essay concerning the textual relationship between Evagrius's translation of the Life of St. Antony and Augustine's On the Divination of Demons. This has not stopped me from writing some poetry, however, and perhaps I'll share it someday soon with all of you. In any case, it has not much to do with BLOB, so it's not as interesting as you're used to.

I'm thinking of doing a recorded reading of my friend's short-story Human Immunodeficiency Vampire, but he's doing some edits at the moment, so you'll have to wait a while for that. In the meantime, enjoy the poetry! Besides the opening paragraph, it's in Dactylic Hexameter, which is pretty difficult to adapt well for the English language, but I've tried.

SPECIAL PREVIEW OF POETRY!

Well, you demanded it, and I have now acquiesced! Here is a special preview of one of the new poems coming your way, 'Song of BLOB's Nose'. This is the introduction to the poem, which sets the scene and tells those not in the know (or those not in the KNOSE!!!!) what is going on in the work.

"BLOB's nose has often been considered by scholars to be the Holy Grail of fleshy appendages, but no indication of its whereabouts has been available to archaeologists for many years, since the events of 'BLOB 6: Secret of the Blobtonite'. When the evil 'Red-Head' tore off BLOB's Nose in a fit of vengeful, sensual fury, he took it to his inner sanctum, and it was never seen again. Curiously, though, the manuscript of this poem was recently found by investigative journalist Rick McStanmyer in the town of Praguish and radiobicarbonate-of-soda dated to 1555, despite the fact that it is written in a calligraphic style smacking of the early-to-mid 19th Century. The poem apparently details the further adventures of BLOB's Nose as it fights to avoid the pits of Hell; whether this legendary 'BLOB's Nose' is the same as the one we all know and love from BLOB's Face is a question that may forever remain answerless."

Erm... Happy New Year....

Been a while, friends. How about some good news?

I haven't been entirely inactive in my time apart from this blog; I've written a lot, and I've done an awful lot of research for my dissertation, on Demonology and the movie 'Drag Me to Hell'.

In any case, you obviously only care about BLOB, so here's some news about him, and the related series.

I've typed up Hero BLOB XI: BLOB Family Reunion, and, as is my wont, I have sent it to Nicolas Nadeau for approval. I applaud my mother's valiant efforts to send me copies of the manuscript last semester so that I could type it then, but I do not applaud the British Postal Service, which, due to its strike, never delivered the package and, instead, sent it back.

Not that I would be bitter.

In any case, I have also recently written some verse works for the various BLOB series, and have finalized the plot details of BLOB 7D: Rise of the Jive Turkeys, which will incorporate the portions earlier filmed for it, along with new footage.

The poems I've written are the following, and will hopefully soon be available in the arts/literature website 'Blastocyst':

'Song of BLOB's Nose'- In this poem, mixing iambic pentameter and dactylic hexameter, the story is told of what happened to BLOB's nose after it was wickedly removed by the Red-Head (with the help of a little Red Blobtonite) in 'BLOB 6: Secret of the Blobtonite'. It seems that the Nose has some problems and nearly falls into the pits of Hell, where it meets the souls of some of BLOB's victimized villains.

'CARMEN PENGII'- Pengy, Cloudman's sidekick (you should know that Cloudman is BLOB's best friend, who features prominently in the upcoming 'BLOB X: Actaeon' and 'BLOB 12: Sinners in the Hands of an Angry BLOB'), is the star of this iambic pentameter poem. It documents his attempts to fly and fulfill his destiny as the son of the Penguin President Pingy of the Penguin Planet.

So those things are all typed up. Next, I'm moving on to the enormous task of typing up my excessively long script for 'Chicken Man 2: Last Flight of the Chicken Man'. I'm getting nervous and restless because I haven't actually produced any work lately, so I will hopefully soon get some people together and film either BLOB X, BLOB 7D, or some other such work. More updates soon!
